More about Dodge Storm
Dodge Storm is about staying relaxed while a lot happens around you. You steer a small orb, and the bolts are rarely aimed to hit you head-on, so the skill is in finding the open space and moving there early. Short, nervous movements usually lead to trouble, while smooth positioning keeps you safe and sets up near misses.
The 45-second storm has four phases. It begins as a Drizzle warm-up, becomes a Squall at 10 seconds, a Tempest at 22 seconds where more bolts home in on you, and a Final Surge at 34 seconds for the last 11 seconds. Bolts get faster in every phase, and each phase has its own color so you always know how far in you are.
Scoring and progress
Your score is your best dodge streak, which counts every bolt that leaves the field without hitting you. A hit resets the streak to zero and costs a life. You start with 4 lives on Easy and 3 on Medium and Hard, and a rare heart can restore one, up to a maximum of 5. Each difficulty keeps its own best. Clearing the storm earns an A, and an S needs a streak of 25 or more with at least 90 percent of bolts dodged.
Common questions
What happens when I get hit?
You lose one life and your dodge streak resets, though your best streak from the run is kept. You are briefly protected afterward, and if you run out of lives the storm ends.
How do I clear the storm?
Survive all 45 seconds with at least one life left. Clearing it earns at least an A, and a streak of 25 or more with 90 percent of bolts dodged earns an S.
Do the three difficulties differ much?
Yes. Higher difficulties send bolts more often and faster, allow more bolts at once, use shorter warnings, and send more homing bolts, with homing bolts even in the Drizzle on Hard.
