About Last One Standing

Last One Standing is a top-down zombie survival shooter. Your hero fires at the nearest zombie automatically, so you focus on moving, dodging and choosing upgrades.

How to play

  • Kills drop green gems. Fill the bar to level up and pick a power-up; maxing out a set unlocks an evolution.
  • Red rings mean an exploder is about to pop, and a red lane warns of a boss charge.
  • Every fifth wave, an Abomination boss arrives.

Controls

Touch and drag anywhere to move with a virtual joystick. On desktop, use the arrow keys or WASD.

More about Last One Standing

Because your hero fires automatically, Last One Standing is really a game about positioning and build choices. You decide where the horde follows you, which zombies to run away from, and which upgrade to take at each level. Every run ends the same way, with you overwhelmed, so the aim is to build a stronger hero than last time and last longer.

New zombie types arrive in a set order. Walkers are first, then Runners on wave 2, Crawlers on 3, Brutes on 4, Spitters on 6, Screamers on 7 and Exploders on 8. Waves that are multiples of five bring a boss, which gets tougher each time you beat one. Weapon crates add a shotgun, grenade launcher or rail gun, each with limited ammo.

Scoring and progress

Your score is the number of zombies you kill in a run, and Easy, Medium and Hard each keep their own best. Difficulty changes zombie health, speed, damage and how many spawn. The grade depends on the wave you reach: wave 3 earns a C, 6 a B, 10 an A and 15 an S. XP depends on kills (counted up to 600), the wave you reached, your grade and the difficulty.

Common questions

What are evolutions?
When you max out certain pairs of power-ups, you can unlock a fused version: Minigun, Blade Cyclone or Storm Caller. They become available as level-up options once both required power-ups are at maximum.

How often do bosses appear?
A boss appears on every fifth wave. Each boss you defeat makes the next one tougher.

What does the green gem bar do?
Zombies drop gems when they die, and collecting them fills the bar. Each time it fills you level up and choose a power-up.

Tips and strategy

  • Keep moving in wide circles. Your hero shoots the nearest zombie on its own, so standing still just lets the horde close in.
  • Take defense and range early. Vitality, Armor Plating and Piercing Rounds are all common or rare picks, and they make the early waves easy to survive while your build comes together.
  • Aim for evolutions. Maxing Multishot and Rapid Fire makes the Minigun, Blade Cyclone needs maxed Orbiting Blades and Swift Boots, and Storm Caller needs maxed Chain Lightning and Critical Eye.
  • Deal with Screamers first, because they speed up the whole horde. Back away from Exploders, since they pop when they get close.
  • Use cover against Spitters, and watch for the red lane that shows a boss is about to charge, then move sideways out of the lane.
  • Pick up weapon crates when the area around them is clear. The ammo is limited, so save the rail gun for zombies lined up in a row.
