More about Core Dive
Core Dive is a timing puzzle in disguise. The ball bounces on its own, so all you control is the angle of the Core, and the whole game is about turning it at the right moment so the next gap is under the ball when it falls. The skill it trains is anticipation: looking at the floor below and turning toward its gap while the ball is still on the way down.
Every level has a goal shown at the bottom, such as dropping three rings in a row on level 1. Completing it makes the next level start with a fireball. Over time the rings add narrow gaps, glass plates, sliding red plates and spinning ones, and each level uses a new color stratum, from Plasma Cyan to Cobalt Flux.
Scoring and progress
Each ring you pass scores 5 points, rising to 20 when you drop several in a row. A fever smash scores 20 plus twice the level, gems and close calls past red score 10 each, and breaking a Core Seal scores 30 plus five times the level. Clearing a level adds ten times the level, tripled if you did it without bouncing. Easy has 10 floors, Medium 12 and Hard 14 at level 1, and S needs level 10.
Common questions
What ends a run?
Touching a red overheated plate ends the run unless you have a shield, which absorbs one hit. Fireballs smash through red plates safely while their heat lasts.
How do I get a shield?
Catch a floating shield item, or grab four gold gems to forge one. Easy and Medium also place shield items in levels, but Hard places fewer.
What does the level goal do?
Each level has a goal shown at the bottom. Finishing it does not add points, but the next level starts with your ball already on fire.
