About Pin Spin

Pin Spin is a timing game. A disc spins at the top of the screen and you fire pins into it one at a time. Stick every pin to shatter the disc and clear the stage.

How to play

  • If your pin hits a stuck pin or a steel stud, you lose one of your three lives and the stage resets.
  • Land a pin between two others for a PERFECT and slice apples for bonus points. Clear a boss disc without a bounce to win back a life.
  • Your score is stages cleared in 40 seconds. Your grade combines accuracy and stages, and the results screen shows both.

Controls

Tap anywhere or press Space to fire a pin.

More about Pin Spin

Pin Spin is a rhythm-and-timing game in which you never move anything but your finger. The disc turns, your pin flies straight up, and the whole skill is picking the moment to release. Over time you learn to read the gaps between pins as they pass the launch point and to tap slightly early so the pin arrives where the gap will be.

Each stage asks for a set number of pins, starting at five or six and growing toward nine or ten, and some pins are already stuck in the disc when the stage begins. The disc gets faster each stage, then starts to pulse, ease, reverse, stutter and wobble, and steel studs begin to crowd the rim. Stage 3 brings the first boss disc, so the difficulty is never flat for long.

Scoring and progress

Your leaderboard score is the number of stages cleared in the 40-second run. A separate points total adds 10 per stuck pin, 25 for a perfect gap, 15 for a close call, 50 per apple, 100 per cleared stage, 250 per boss and 150 for a flawless boss. Your grade is the lower of your accuracy grade and your stage grade, so a fast but sloppy run and an accurate but slow run both cap out. Each difficulty keeps its own best.

Common questions

What happens when I hit a pin or stud?
The pin bounces off, you lose one of your three lives and the stage resets. When all three lives are gone the run ends, even if there is time left.

Does the 40-second clock stop between stages?
No, the clock runs for the whole run. Your goal is to clear as many stages as you can before it ends, so faster clean stages beat slow careful ones.

What changes between Easy and Hard?
Hard starts with a faster disc, more pre-stuck pins and earlier steel studs, and its flips and pattern changes come more often. Its stage grade thresholds are lower to compensate.

Tips and strategy

  • Tap on a rhythm, not on a reaction. By the time you see a gap, it has already moved, so release before the target gap reaches the pin line.
  • Read the pattern label. The game shows tags such as PULSE, DRIFT, REVERSE, STUTTER, WOBBLE and CHAOS, so watch one rotation to see how the disc behaves before you fire.
  • Aim for the middle of the widest gap. A perfect lands between two pins and pays 25 extra points, but a clean stick is better than a risky perfect that clips a neighbor.
  • Use your free bounce wisely. The first bounce before the first boss is shielded, so you can use the early stages to test the timing without losing a life.
  • Go for apples only when they line up with a good gap. They are worth 50 points, but a lost life resets the stage and wastes seconds on the clock.
  • Clear bosses cleanly. A boss disc beaten without a bounce earns a life back, up to three, which matters more than the points.
