Odd One Out

Cards flip onto the table. Spot the one that doesn't match — by shape, color, fill or count — or call it when they're all identical. Streaks multiply your points; every level deals more cards with subtler differences.

About Odd One Out

Odd One Out is a quick visual logic game. A set of cards is dealt, and you decide which one is different, or whether they are all identical.

How to play

  • Cards can differ by shape, color, fill (solid, striped or outline) or count. If every card is identical, call All match; on Easy you call Match or No match.
  • Every four correct answers in a row raise your multiplier, up to ×3. A miss or timeout costs one of your 3 lives, and the run ends at 30 seconds or when your lives run out.
  • 2 Players is pass and play: a correct call scores and keeps your turn, a miss passes it, and the most points after 20 hands wins. Not ranked.

Controls

Tap or click the odd card, or the All match button. Keys: 1 to 6 pick a card, Space for All match.

More about Odd One Out

Odd One Out trains a specific kind of attention: comparing several small things at once and noticing which attribute changed, instead of staring at the cards one by one. Each hand is a short puzzle with a clear answer, so a run feels like a rhythm of look, decide, tap.

The first levels are forgiving, with the odd card differing in two obvious ways. As levels climb, the difference shrinks to a single attribute, then to the quieter ones, fill and count, where a card may have just one more or one fewer symbol than the rest. Harder difficulties deal more cards and give you less time per hand, so late hands reward a steady scanning routine rather than guessing.

Scoring and progress

Each correct call is worth 10 points times your multiplier. The multiplier starts at ×1 and rises by 0.5 for every four correct answers in a row, capped at ×3. A miss or a timeout costs 5 points, one of your three lives, and your streak. Your best score is saved separately for Easy, Medium and Hard. Runs get a grade from S to D based on how many lives you kept, and XP scales with the difficulty you chose.

Common questions

How long is a run?
A solo run lasts 30 seconds, or until you lose all three lives. Time spent reviewing the answer after a miss does not count against the clock. Unlimited mode has no timer at all.

What counts as a difference?
A card can differ in shape, color, fill (solid, striped or outline) or the number of symbols on it. At first the odd card can differ in two ways, and later levels use a single attribute.

Does Easy mode work the same way?
On Easy you see two cards and call Match or No match. Medium and Hard deal more cards, and you pick the odd card or call All match.

Tips and strategy

  • Pick one attribute and check it across all the cards before moving to the next. Going shape, then color, then fill, then count is faster than looking at the cards one at a time.
  • Remember to consider that all the cards may match. On later levels, if you cannot find a difference after one full pass, calling All match is often right.
  • Protect your streak before chasing speed. Every four correct answers raises the multiplier, and a single miss resets it to ×1, so a careful correct call is worth more than a rushed guess.
  • Each hand has its own short decision timer that gets tighter as levels rise and loosens a little when more cards are on the table. Do not freeze on a hard hand; make your best call before it runs out.
  • After a miss the game shows which attributes differed and gives you a free look. Use it to learn what you overlooked, because the same tell tends to come back.
  • Start on Medium to learn the four attributes, and move to Hard once spotting a difference feels automatic. Easy is a simpler two-card Match or No match call.
